Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois State Water Survey developed a Model Stormwater Management Ordinance as a resource for counties and municipalities to use when drafting or revising their own stormwater ordinances. This document can serve as a template containing the minimum requirements for an effective ordinance, and suggestions for more advanced stormwater protection. It particularly addresses tree protection and GI maintenance.
