The most prevalent species in Aberdeen urban forest is Ash. Their internally-developed EAB plan focuses on preemption — early detection and rapid reconstruction of their urban forest by reducing the number of ash trees, and creating more species diversity in public spaces. The City offers private owners comprehensive guidance on dealing with EAB, strongly recommending against use of chemical treatments.
